Time is of the Essence
Lately, the Internet is full of news that surrounds Sridevi’s* sudden passing. The story that kicked off as cardiac arrest, ended up being death from accidental drowning. Between these there were many versions that were crafted by self-acclaimed investigators.
Speaking of emotions, we saw different hues emerging from this unfortunate incident; while many were visibly shaken and grief-stricken, some took to joking about the whole affair (I wouldn't take death lightly, but I’m no one to judge apathy). I hardly think twice about what happens in Tinsel Town, but this incident hit me hard. In the zillion pictures of the Kapoor family that have gone viral, I saw a very doting mom in Sridevi (I wonder how her girls are holding their ground amidst such inexpressible loss). These pictures were an eye-opener, because I’m a doting mother too and want to be there for my girls for as long as I can.
One day my birdies will leave my nest to make their own. They will have to take many tiring flights before they can make their own beautiful nests and time and again, they'll yearn for a safe resting place. I want to be that rock where they can rest between their weary flights.
Not just a rock, I want to be a sturdy rock that can stand the test of time, just like how my parents are still my rock. Now, being a durable rock is difficult, but you can begin with a simple mantra - you strong - your beloveds stronger! And how is it that 'you' get stronger? You eat good food, move more, sleep enough, harbour clean thoughts and spend loads (and loads) of good time with the ones that matter. To sum it all, 'you' just do everything that will turn the frowns upside down. Simple isn't it?
